8 below

There are so many movies about love and sacrifice but, for me, there is only one movie that stands out. Eight Below by Walt Disney is a movie about eight dogs that were left alone in the blistering cold of Antarctica. For 175 days, Feb. 8 to August 3, the dogs were wandering in the desert of cold finding any means to survive. Two dogs were taken out before the story ended which leads to a very hard and painful living of the remaining dogs. But because of courage, hope, and love, six of them were able live on.

Parallel to our lives, we have experienced so many hardships in life which tested our faith and courage. But like the dogs depicted in this movie, we should steadfastly stay with our faith and constantly cling to our hopes so that we could be stronger who we never expected to become. We must put in mind that trials and hardships just come and go. Whether we accept the rose with thorns or we accept thorns with rose. We should follow the virtues of hope, love, and faith that these dogs and Jerry Shepard thought us in this movie. Also we must remind ourselves that no matter what happens, God will always be there to support and guide us all the way as we cross the tunnel.

My favourite quote in the movie is “Finding that true place that will put your heart in place.”

Thumbs up!!! emoticon
